Adrienne Bailon-Houghton reveals that Solange Knowles was initially chosen for ‘The Cheetah Girls’ in a recent interview.

During an appearance on the We Said What We Said With Rickey and Denzel podcast, Bailon-Houghton shared that the original cast for the Disney Channel movie franchise included herself as Chanel, Raven-Symoné as Galleria, Sabrina Bryan as Dorinda, and Solange Knowles as Aqua.

Bailon-Houghton thought Solange was a perfect fit for the role of Aqua, especially with her Texas accent and personality. However, at the last minute, Solange ended up not doing the film for undisclosed reasons.

Despite the casting change, The Cheetah Girls achieved success with the final cast and went on to film two more movies. Raven-Symoné did not return for the final film, but Bailon-Houghton, Williams, and Bryan continued as a trio until disbanding in 2008.

When asked about a possible reboot, Raven-Symoné expressed her interest, mentioning that they love working together and would be open to another Cheetah Girls project. Bailon-Houghton agreed, emphasizing the importance of preserving the essence of the original and not ruining its legacy.

Both actresses believe that if they were to collaborate again, it would be a smashing success. Raven-Symoné expressed her desire to focus more on directing, but she would still be excited about a reunion project with the Cheetah Girls.
