BTS’s Jung Kook is making a strong debut in his solo career in the UK with his song “Seven” challenging for the top spot on the charts. Released under BigHit Entertainment, the track is just 2,000 chart sales behind the current leader, Dave and Central Cee’s “Sprinter.”
“Seven” has the potential to achieve something no other member of BTS has done before – reaching the summit of the UK singles chart. While all seven members of BTS have released solo material, Jung Kook is on track to make history with this accomplishment.
Among the BTS members, Jimin has set the bar high with his solo track “Like Crazy,” which reached the top 10, peaking at No. 8 on the UK charts. He also achieved a top 40 hit with “Set Me Free Pt. 2,” reaching No. 30. J-hope became the first BTS member to secure a top 40 single with his collaboration with J. Cole’s song “On The Street” reached its highest position at No. 37 on the charts.
Overall, BTS has amassed an impressive record on the UK charts with nine top 40 singles, including four top 10 hits. Their highest-charting single to date is “Dynamite,” which reached No. 3 in 2020. They have also achieved success with collaborations such as “Butter” and “My Universe” with Coldplay in 2021. Additionally, two BTS albums have topped the national albums chart in the UK.
However, Dave and Central Cee’s hip-hop hit “Sprinter” has been dominating the Official UK Singles Chart for six consecutive weeks, making it a tough contender to surpass.
In addition to BTS and Jung Kook, Billie Eilish is making a move towards the top 10 with her song “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie movie soundtrack. If it maintains its position, it will mark Eilish’s ninth top-tier appearance on the UK charts.
Meanwhile, J Hus is poised to make an impact on the UK chart with his latest album, “Beautiful and Brutal Yard.” His current single “Who Told You” with Drake remains steady at No. 4, while album tracks “Militerian” featuring Naira Marley and “Masculine” featuring Burna Boy are expected to debut in the top 40.
The final positions of these songs and albums will be revealed when the Official Chart is published on Friday, July 22. Fans and music enthusiasts eagerly await to see if Jung Kook and BTS can secure their first UK chart-topping single.
