Duran Duran, the legendary British band, will be hosting a special one-off benefit concert as part of their upcoming North America tour. The concert aims to raise funds for the Cancer Awareness Trust and serves as a tribute to guitarist Andy Taylor, who is currently fighting stage-4 prostate cancer.
The concert will take place on August 19 at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park, CA. Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon expressed the band’s commitment to helping their dear friend Andy and others battling prostate cancer by performing some of the iconic songs they co-wrote, including hits like “A View to a Kill,” “Rio,” and “Hungry Like the Wolf.”

News of Andy Taylor’s diagnosis came just before Duran Duran’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year. Though Taylor couldn’t attend the ceremony due to his ongoing treatment, the band members read a letter from him addressing his illness. Since then, they have learned about a groundbreaking life-extending treatment that they will support for cancer patients like Andy.
Drummer Roger Taylor expressed gratitude to fans and organizers for providing the opportunity to help their longtime friend. The band sees themselves as a “band of brothers,” and they are committed to supporting Andy in this difficult time.

Andy Taylor was the lead guitarist for Duran Duran during their rise to fame in the 1980s. After a successful solo career, he reunited with the band in the early 2000s. Duran Duran released their 15th studio album, “Future Past,” in 2021, which achieved great success. They are currently working on another album that will feature Andy Taylor’s talents on guitar.
Tickets for the benefit concert will be available for pre-sale to members of the Duran Duran VIP Fan Community, with general sales starting on July 19 at GuildTheatre.com.
