Eilish Gilligan, a singer from Melbourne, has returned with a brand new single titled ‘Involved You’. This song marks the first release from Gilligan’s upcoming debut album, which does not yet have a release date or an official title. It has been almost two years since Gilligan’s last single, and according to her, ‘Involved You’ explores the theme of unintentionally assuming the role of the antagonist in relationships.
Gilligan explains that after experiencing this situation multiple times, she began to question whether her worst fear of being a bad person had actually come true without her realizing it. However, upon reflection, she no longer believes that was the case. Nevertheless, she wrote this song from the perspective of that fear and uncertainty.
Produced in collaboration with Gab Strum, also known as Japanese Wallpaper, ‘Involved You’ showcases Gilligan’s evolving musical style. Strum, who has worked with various artists such as Mallrat, George Alice, MAY-A, and Allday, brings his production expertise to Gilligan’s latest release.
Gilligan expresses that her approach to life and music has undergone significant changes over the past few years. She now feels stronger and wants her music to reflect that newfound strength. She promises that ‘Involved You’ is just the beginning and that there is much more to come from her in the future.
To celebrate the release of ‘Involved You’, Gilligan will be performing a live show at the Merri Creek Tavern on Friday, July 21st. The talented musician Mia Pisano will be supporting her during this event. Tickets for the show are currently on sale and can be purchased now.
Fans and listeners eagerly await Gilligan’s debut album, as ‘Involved You’ provides a taste of what is to come from this talented artist. With her unique musical style and introspective lyrics, Gilligan continues to captivate audiences and establish herself as a prominent figure in the music industry. Stay tuned for more updates on her upcoming album and future releases.
