Hayley Atwell recently discussed her return as Peggy Carter in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness and her experience in the Marvel animated series What If…?.
During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Atwell addressed her brief appearance in Doctor Strange 2 and the criticism she received for it. She clarified that the decision was not hers and expressed humor about the scene where her character is quickly killed off. Atwell acknowledged that it was frustrating and didn’t serve Peggy’s character well.

On a more positive note, Atwell shared her enthusiasm for her role in the Marvel animated series What If…?. She felt that she had more to do in that series and enjoyed the creative freedom of working in a voiceover booth. Atwell appreciated the focus on vocal performance as the main tool for her character.
Atwell has a long history with the character of Peggy Carter, starting with her debut in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011. She also appeared in the Agent Carter short film and subsequent TV series. Atwell reprised her role in various Marvel films, including Avengers: Endgame.

Currently, Atwell is promoting her latest film, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, where she plays the character Grace, a former burglar turned IMF agent and ally of Ethan Hunt, portrayed by Tom Cruise. Fans can look forward to seeing Atwell in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, the sequel to the latest film. The next movie in the franchise will come out on June 28, 2024.
