Disney theme park characters took the place of actors at the ‘Haunted Mansion’ premiere due to the cast’s absence caused by a strike action. The movie premiere was held at Disneyland in California and was expected to be attended by stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Tiffany Haddish, Rosario Dawson, and Danny DeVito. However, they were notably missing due to the ongoing strike by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) acting unions.

The strike guidelines prevent actors from participating in promotional appearances, on-camera work, and attending events such as premieres, awards shows, film festivals, interviews, or podcasts. As a result, the cast members of ‘Haunted Mansion’ had to skip the premiere to adhere to the union’s rules.

He acknowledged the significance of their stand and expressed sadness at their absence while affirming his support for their cause.

The strike was announced after negotiations between the unions and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers failed to reach an agreement. This industrial action impacts the film and entertainment industry significantly and is related to issues like fair wages and working conditions for the union members.
