Jennifer Lawrence’s iconic portrayal of Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” movies is hard to imagine with anyone else. However, Lawrence revealed that she nearly rejected the role initially.
Lawrence explained in an interview that she had auditioned for the role of Bella in “Twilight” but didn’t get the part. Reflecting on the experience, she realized that landing the role would have drastically changed her life. This made her hesitant about taking on another franchise like “The Hunger Games” and becoming exclusively associated with it.

She expressed concerns about the level of fame she would attain, comparing it to the “Twilight”-level of fame, which she wasn’t prepared for. Lawrence wanted to explore independent films and diverse projects rather than being solely recognized for one franchise.
She admitted that it was challenging to explain this to people at the time. She desired to do indie films and be part of critically acclaimed projects but didn’t want to be overwhelmingly famous.
