Kelly Clarkson had a strong feeling in her heart that her marriage was doomed. The 41-year-old star was married to Brandon Blackstock from 2013 to 2021, and despite their attempts at counseling and working on their relationship, Kelly couldn’t shake the belief that it wouldn’t work out.
During an interview on Apple Music’s ‘The Zane Lowe Show,’ Kelly revealed, “I literally said to my therapist, and it wasn’t even, honestly, we weren’t even divorced. We weren’t separated then. When we initially sought therapy, it was during our discussions about our marriage. We were attempting to find solutions and make it work. I had a strong desire to make it happen, but deep down, I knew it wasn’t going to succeed.

It’s just frustrating, and I’m not ready to go through it.
In addition to discussing her marriage, Kelly recently opened up about her love for attending therapy sessions. She revealed to ‘ET Canada’ that she has been regularly going to therapy, even during her marriage. Although writing and having a supportive group of friends have been therapeutic for her, she found therapy to be a significant turning point in her life.
