Kylie Minogue has expressed mixed emotions regarding the return of the TV show Neighbours after she participated in its farewell episode last year. The Australian soap opera aired its supposed final episode in August 2022, as its UK broadcast partner, Channel 5, withdrew its support. To bid farewell to the show, Kylie reprised her role as Charlene and reunited with former co-star Jason Donovan for a special cameo appearance. However, a few months later, it was announced that Neighbours would be rebooted and picked up by the streaming service Freevee.

When asked about her thoughts on her cameo in the supposed finale, considering the show’s return, Kylie admitted to having mixed feelings. She mentioned feeling more “miffed” than happy about it. However, she acknowledged that the producers were uncertain about the show’s future at the time and appreciated the affection and love that went into the final episode.

Kylie expressed her happiness for the show’s return and her curiosity about how it would change. Currently, she is promoting her new single, “Padam Padam,” which has become her highest-charting song in the UK in 12 years. During the Capital Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium, she surprised the audience with an impromptu performance, singing both “Padam Padam” and her iconic hit, “Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.”
