Princess Eugenie of Britain and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have welcomed their second child, a baby boy. The niece of King Charles III, Princess Eugenie gave birth to their son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank, on May 30.
Sharing the joyous news on Instagram, Princess Eugenie, who is the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, expressed her happiness about their new arrival. The baby was born at 8:49 am and weighed 7.1 pounds.

In her Instagram post, Princess Eugenie revealed that their son’s name is a tribute to various family members. He is named after his great-great-great grandfather George, his grandfathers George and Ronald. The princess also shared heartwarming images of her newborn son, capturing him snuggled up and sleeping peacefully. One of the pictures also featured his big brother, August, who was born on February 9, 2021, at The Portland Hospital in London. Princess Eugenie mentioned that August, who is now 2 years old, is already enjoying his role as a big brother.
Their firstborn, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, has a name that holds special meaning from their family history. Princess Eugenie previously explained on Instagram that August is named after his great-great-great-great-great-grandfather Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria, who had Augustus as a middle name. One of August’s middle names pays tribute to Princess Eugenie’s late grandfather, Prince Philip. Hawke is a family name from the Brooksbank side.

The newborn baby is now 13th in line to the British throne, joining the line of succession after his mother, Princess Eugenie. The news of Princess Eugenie’s second pregnancy was first announced by Buckingham Palace in January, expressing the family’s delight. At that time, it was mentioned that August was eagerly looking forward to becoming a big brother.
Princess Eugenie also shared her excitement on Instagram, posting an image of August with his face against her baby bump, announcing the new addition to their family. Her mother, Sarah Ferguson, commented on the post, expressing her joy and referring to herself as being in “Granny heaven.”
