This is the first time Scarlett has confirmed her involvement in a new Marvel project. In a previous interview on the Goop podcast hosted by Gwyneth Paltrow, who also stars in the Marvel films, Scarlett had stated that her chapter as Black Widow was over. However, this recent confirmation has ignited speculation among fans about the nature of the secret project.

Many fans on social media platforms like Twitter have begun discussing and debating the possibilities. Some believe that Scarlett deserves more Black Widow solo films, while others speculate that she might be involved behind the scenes, possibly directing a Black Widow sequel featuring Florence Pugh’s character, Yelena. It’s worth noting that Scarlett’s announcement came as a surprise to some, especially considering her legal dispute with Disney over the release of Black Widow on their streaming platform. The lawsuit, which alleged a breach of contract, was settled in 2021.

While the specific details of the “top-secret” Marvel project remain unknown, fans eagerly anticipate any updates regarding Scarlett’s future involvement in the Marvel universe. In the meantime, audiences can catch her in action in Asteroid City, which premiered in limited theaters on June 16th and will have a wider release on the 23rd.
