Sheryl Lee Ralph’s son, Etienne Maurice, recently shared his reflections on two of the most terrifying moments of his life in a recent AARP: The Magazine cover story. In the August/September issue of the publication, Etienne, who stars in the TV series “Abbott Elementary,” recounted two harrowing incidents that occurred in 2013. The first was a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) incident during his college days, where he suffered a concussion that had a significant impact on his brain. The second incident involved a mugging, during which he was shot three times. His mother, Sheryl Lee Ralph, recalled how Etienne woke up in the hospital with two bullets in his leg and a graze wound on his forehead from another bullet.
Despite the traumatic nature of both accidents, the now 31-year-old Etienne took to Twitter to share that these experiences paved the way for the meaningful work he is currently engaged in as the CEO and founder of WalkGood Productions. This independent film and TV production company aims to bring people from diverse backgrounds together to create original stories.

Etienne also proudly showcased WalkGood’s new creative space in Los Angeles, highlighting its focus on community healing and building. The company is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment that brings together individuals from all walks of life to tell unique and impactful stories.
