Star-studded cast including Al Pacino, Viggo Mortensen, John Travolta, Shia LaBeouf, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Courtney Love in David Mamet’s JFK thriller ‘Assassination’

In an upcoming thriller film called “Assassination,” notable actors Al Pacino, Viggo Mortensen, John Travolta, Shia LaBeouf, Rebecca Pidgeon, and Courtney Love will star, according to our sources. The movie, directed by David Mamet, is set to be launched at the Cannes market.

“Assassination” will retell the story of John F. Kennedy’s murder from the perspective of the mob. It presents a fictionalized account where the Chicago mob boss, Sam Giancana, orders the hit as revenge for JFK’s actions against the mob. The screenplay, co-written by Mamet and Nicholas Celozzi, explores the thread that was also explored in Oliver Stone’s film “JFK.”

Nicholas Celozzi, who co-wrote the script, happens to be Sam Giancana’s grandnephew. The cinematographer for the film is the acclaimed Robert Elswitt, an Oscar winner for “There Will Be Blood.”

The production is helmed by Corey Large and Nicholas Celozzi, with John Burnham, Gary Hamilton, Pia Patatian, Jordan Nott, Bernie Gewissler, and Amar Balaggan serving as executive producers. The film is backed by finance from 308 Enterprises.

Filming for “Assassination” is scheduled to begin in September in Vancouver.
