Supermodel Gigi Hadid found herself in a legal situation while traveling to the Cayman Islands. Customs and Border Control agents discovered marijuana in her luggage, leading to her arrest and subsequent fine. However, Hadid’s representative provided an explanation, stating that the marijuana was legally purchased in New York City with a medical license. They also clarified that medical use of marijuana has been legal in the Cayman Islands since 2017.

According to reports from local outlet Cayman Marl Road, Hadid and a friend were apprehended on July 10 at the Owen Roberts International Airport. The arrest was made on suspicion of importing marijuana and possessing utensils used for its consumption. Customs officials conducted a search of their bags during the customs processing.
