Taylor Lautner, the star of the Twilight saga, has finally set the record straight on how to pronounce his last name. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that the correct pronunciation is “Lowt-ner,” not “Lawt-ner” as many people have been saying for years.
Lautner said that he never corrected anyone before because he didn’t care how his last name was pronounced. “I don’t mind how you pronounce my last name,” he said. “It’s all the same to me.”

However, the actor did admit that he felt a little bit guilty about not correcting people sooner. “It is my fault nobody knows how it is pronounced because I never corrected anybody for decades,” he said. I never corrected anyone, not even in interviews. I just let them say “Lawt-ner” because I didn’t care.
Lautner’s revelation comes after he made a surprise appearance at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour stop in Kansas City, Missouri, on Friday. The actor joined Swift onstage to help her debut the music video for her song “I Can See You.”

Swift and Lautner dated for a few months in 2009, and their relationship inspired the song “Back to December” on Swift’s 2010 album Speak Now. In a speech before introducing Lautner to the stage, Swift said that he was “a very positive force in my life when I was making the Speak Now album.”
After the concert, Swift and Lautner shared a photo with Lautner’s wife, Taylor Dome Lautner. The three Taylors pointed at each other in a hilarious recreation of the iconic Spider-Man meme, poking fun at their shared first name.
