“The Life of Chuck” is adapted from a short story in King’s anthology called “If It Bleeds,” published in 2020. The film follows the life of a character named Charles Krantz in reverse order, starting with his death from a brain tumor at 39 and concluding with his childhood in a haunted house.

The script has been in development for several months and was written prior to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. Tom Hiddleston is set to portray the lead character, Charles Krantz, while Mark Hamill will join the cast as Albie.

The film is expected to have a similar tone to movies like “Stand By Me,” “The Shawshank Redemption,” and “The Green Mile.” It aims to capture the essence of King’s storytelling style.
