Zayn Malik talks about feeling overwhelmed and misunderstood in One Direction

Zayn Malik, the former One Direction member, has given his first interview in six years. In the interview, he talked about his reasons for leaving the band, his life as a father, and why he’s decided to start doing interviews again.

Malik said that he left One Direction because he felt like he was being “overexposed” and that he wanted to have more privacy. He also said that he didn’t like the labels that were put on him, like “the mysterious one.”

“I felt like we were so overexposed in the band that I took a break from interviews,” he said. “I wanted to have a normal life like any other 22-year-old.”

Malik left One Direction in 2015 after four years and four albums. He said he wanted to be a “normal 22-year-old” and have some privacy.

After leaving One Direction, Malik released three solo albums and had a lot of success. He also had a daughter, Khai, with his ex-partner, model Gigi Hadid.

Malik said that he’s decided to start doing interviews again because he wants to be a good example for his daughter. He said that he wants her to see him being open and honest about his life.

Since becoming a father, I’ve been focused on being a good role model for my daughter. I want her to be proud of me.
